In February 2009, Pearson cosponsored the 9th Annual Celebration of Reading event. Hosted by former Governor and Mrs. Jeb Bush and President George H.W. Bush, each year, Celebration of Reading raises millions of dollars to help people read and build better futures for their families. Donations fund the development of a network of strong family literacy academies which provide programs and even meals for both parents and their young children.
